MPRO HELPS HAWORTH ‘ANCIENTS’ GET MOBILE!
Mobile Phone Recycling Organisation donated ten mobile phones to help raise more than £300 for residents of Heathcliff Sheltered Housing in Haworth.

The phones were raffled off at Ye Ancients Of Heathcliff Spring Fayre, staged as part of Haworth’s 1940’s Weekend. The cash will be used to help fund a trip out and a Christmas dinner for residents of the Bradford West Community Housing Trust home.

Chairwoman of the Heathcliff Residents Association, Brenda Everett, 69, said: “The donation was super. We don’t usually have outings because we have no money. Now we hope to hire a minibus and go somewhere like Pateley Bridge. We all get on super, so it’ll be really fun.”
Launched last year, MPRO recycles old, unwanted or damaged mobile phones, repairing and refurbishing those which are salvageable, before reintroducing them back into the market place via mobile phone retailers, or selling them online.

MPRO managing director Johann Shepherd said: “We believe this represents the ultimate mobile phone recycling and re-use solution - one that will benefit the environment significantly.
“We were delighted to help these deserving Haworth residents by giving them hundreds of pounds worth of mobile phones, which are refurbished but indistinguishable from new ones,” he added.
The community support initiative coincides with the launch of the MPRO’s new-look website enabling people to trade in their old mobile phone for cash and purchase a recycled and refurbished mobile phone online.
